Grubbs Named Week 7 Player of the Week
Mount Pleasant QB Accounts For 9 Touchdowns
Cullen Grubbs, a quarterback at Mount Pleasant High School, has been named the Week Seven recipient of the Texas Bowl Gridiron Legends Player of the Week, presented by Cavender’s and Wrangler Retro. Grubbs, a senior, threw for 376 yards and six touchdowns while adding another three scores on the ground in the Tigers’ heartbreaking 64-59 loss to district rival Marshall. Tiger fans can also be praised for their part in this honor, as they voted often enough to make sure that Cullen received the most votes in the poll on texasfootball.com.

Every Monday at noon, TexasFootball.com will announce ten candidates for that week’s award, based on the previous week’s on-field performance. Fans can vote online at TexasFootball.com’s online poll, where you can see the current vote standings. Voting will close at noon each Friday, with the winner being announced shortly afterward. The award will be given every week through Week 14. Check this page every week to view the full list of ten candidates and the details of their most recent performance.
This season, each weekly winner will be automatically nominated for the Player of the Year award, presented with Cavenders, Wrangler Retro and the Texas Bowl. Those candidates will be announced during the playoffs, and voting for that award will continue until the end of the high school season.
