Rivalry Week Is Here!

The regular college football season is winding down and this weekend is stacked with games that fans have been waiting all season to watch. One in particular has our attention: Texas A&M vs. LSU. Which was supposed to be one of the biggest games of the season. Now who knows?

Both teams started off the season with such promise. LSU came out of the gates hot winning seven wins in a row and a running back, Leonard Fournette, who rushed 1,352 yards. Thinking Heisman? Yeah so was I. Until week 7 when the Crimson Tide defense held Fournette to 31 yards. Alabama handed LSU their first loss 30-16. But what’s one loss? Except things didn’t turn around for the Tigers. In the last two weeks LSU has picked up losses against Arkansas 31-14 and Ole Miss 38-17. Bringing their conference record to 4-3. 7-3 overall.

Similarly, A&M stands 4-3 in the conference and 8-3 overall. The Aggies also had a strong start winning their first five games in a row. Then Alabama came into town and shut down the Aggie offense, A&M suffered their first loss of the season 41-23. They also picked up losses from Ole Miss 23-3 and Auburn 26-10.

So what’s next for these teams? This Saturday, these two SEC rivals face off in Death Valley. But what are they both fighting for? LSU Head Coach, Les Miles is fighting to keep his job. It’s his last chance of the season to show why he deserves to continue coaching the Tigers. For A&M, it’s their chance at redemption. The Aggies are winless against the Tigers since they joined the SEC Conference.

Tune in this Saturday at 6:30 on SEC network to find out which team will prevail.
